What did you do this past week?

This past week, I met up with my group members for the IDB1 project and started working on phase one. First, we came up with our proposal, and we are currently working on the project together for a couple of hours a week. In addition to that, I am working on getting work done in my other classes, as I have a lot of deadlines approaching due to the lost time last week.

What’s in your way?

Currently, there is nothing in my way. A lot of work has piled up due to the winter storm last week, and I need to focus on getting that work done and staying diligent. I also need to work on consistently attending meetings with my group and work on the project.

What will you do next week?

Next week, my group and I will continue to work on the project, and work on getting it finished and submitted. In addition to that, I will attend class consistently and make sure I am participating in the quizzes and the exercises for lecture. Lastly, I will work on meeting the deadlines for projects for other classes, as there are a lot of them approaching.

If you read it, what did you think of the Single Responsibility Principle?

I believe this is very good knowledge to have. I had a slight understanding of this concept prior, as I have used it in a couple of previous projects and tasks I have worked on before. Reading and understanding this concept helped me get a better grasp on it.

What was your experience of IDB1 and reduce? (this question will vary, week to week)

Working on IDB1 has been pleasant so far, and my group and I have been getting a concrete amount of work done. Currently, I am focusing on learning more frontend concepts such as react and bootstrap, as they are good skills to know for the project. We have set consistent meeting times, and are working diligently. Reduce was a useful exercise, and it was nice working on it in class.

How did you fare in the storm?

Fortunately, we only lost water during the storm, so we were lucky. We just made sure we had a lot of water filled up, as we got some prior warnings before it happened. Other than that, things were not too bad and we could make it through.

What made you happy this week?

This weekend, I got to go home and meet my parents. It was nice seeing them, and I had not seen them for a while due to the pandemic and the winter storm. It was great spending some time at home, and I enjoyed it.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My pick of the week is to sleep at night! It has been a stressful week for a lot of us, and due to that, I believe it is important to get some well needed rest.
