CS373 Spring 2021: Saumyaa Krishnan

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Lansing, Michigan, but attended high school in Austin!

What high school did you attend?

I attended Westwood High School.

What was your favorite extracurricular activity in high school?

I did Indian Classical Dance in high school, and I really enjoyed it!

Why did you come to UT?

I came to UT because of its amazing Computer Science program, and the close proximity to home.

Why are you in this class?

I feel like this class will really help me learn more Software Engineering Concepts, and I will grow my technical skills through this class.

What are your expectations of this class?

I expect to learn and hone a lot of my technical skills through this class, and I am very excited to be in it!

How much Javascript/Python/SQL/Web programming do you already know?

I am a little familiar with Python, SQL, and Web Programming, but hope to become more proficient with these concepts, as well as with Javascript over this semester.

How did you like the two lectures?

I liked them, they were really engaging and kept me attentive.

How did you feel about the cold calling?

Prof Downing employed a similar method in OOP last semester, and I feel like it was a great way to keep me engaged with the lecture material!

What made you happy this week?

I’m moving back into my apartment and seeing a lot of friends who I have not met in a while!

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My pick of the week is calendly.com! It helps organize and schedule, and that is a great resource for the beginning of the semester.
